Founded in the 1970s as an
experimental laboratory, Bracciodiferro is now an
experimental design studio that combines craftsmanship,
irony and a subversive spirit.
It all began at the Cassina research center, thanks
to visionaries such as Cesare Cassina, Aldo Cichero,
Gaetano Pesce and Alessandro Mendini.
It is the first
creative laboratory dedicated to radical Italian design,
where design, communication and
production become experiments.
Today the studio is located in Milan, in the heart of NoLo,
inside a former auto repair shop. Niccolò Spirito,
artist and founder, continues the original vision:
to create unique, self-produced objects that challenge the
rules of taste and celebrate creative freedom.
Bracciodiferro is located in a space that is a
studio, home and laboratory at the same time.
An industrial
basement with iron frames and an entrance ramp that
leads to a parallel universe, made of collectible scooters,
self-produced furniture, resins, paints, pipes and cement.
Here, every object is a unique piece, the result of
experimentation, craftsmanship and vision.
Bracciodiferro creates objects and furnishings outside the logic of the market, designed for collectors and galleries. Our creations dialogue with the legacy of Italian design – from Sottsass to Sarfatti – and look to the future, through collaborations and contaminations with contemporary realities such as Toilet Paper and Seletti.
